DIY Dollar-Store Easter Bunny Mason Jar – $7 craft

March 25, 2021

Easter is a little over a week away and one thing you definitely need at your table this year is this cute and easy to make bunny mason jar. All of these materials can be found at the Dollar store and only cost me $7! What a score! This adorable little Easter Bunny jar can either store some of your favorite Easter candies (just remove the lid) or can be purely decorative.

Over the years the Dollar store has stepped it up with their products and I have to say that their craft section, although Michaels will always remain #1 in my heart, has really come together. You can easily make any DIY for any Holiday with their selection of well made craft materials and for such a cheap cost. I will definitely be taking a trip back there for all the other DIY’s I plan on sharing here.

To make this DIY you will only need 7 materials- pipe cleaners, yellow paint, paint brush or paint sponge, wooden stick, craft bottle or mason jar, googly eyes, white pompom, hot glue (recommended but tape will also work) and a ribbon to tie around the top (optional). It only takes a few minutes to create this adorable Bunny that is the perfect easy Easter craft to make.

What you will need: All found at the Dollar- Store

  • 1 pack of pipe cleaners with the colors green, red, purple & orange.
  • 1 tub yellow paint
  • 1 paint brush- I found these paint sponges that worked great
  • 1 wooden stick
  • 1 craft bottle or mason jar
  • 2 googly eyes
  • 1 white pompom
  • Hot glue or tape, hot glue is recommended but tape will also do the trick
  • Optional: Ribbon to tie around the top

Directions

  1. Paint your mason jar and wooden stick using the yellow paint, wait to dry
  2. Once dry break your wooden stick in half, rounded ends will be the feet, and glue to the bottom of your jar. Or use tape if this is all you have on hand.
  3. To decorate your bunny attach the white pom pom to the back of your jar and cut his tail, cut the red pipe cleaner as arms, the orange one for his nose and carrot and the green one for the tip of the carrot, glue to jar.
  4. To make his ears cut the purple pipe cleaner in half and loop in a U shape and then connect the ends to make ears, glue to the lid.
  5. Glue on your googly eyes and tie a bow around the top for a scarf/decorative touch (optional).
