Marathon training – week 5

It has been almost 5 weeks since I started my marathon training and my addiction to running grows every day. I go to bed thinking about how far I plan on running the next day, my route, where I want to sprint. It’s hilarious. Those who run probably know what I am talking about. I believe it’s called runner mind. Well, whatever you call it, I love to run. It’s one of my favorite parts of the morning. My second favorite is to drink my go-to Orgain protein drink.

Monday, January 6 I ran 6.5 miles with a quicker pace the last mile. My goal by the end of January is to be able to run 7 miles in about 1 hr 5 minutes and my mile to be 8-10 minutes.

This morning, January 7, I did a sprinting 1.5 miles and made it back in about 20 minutes because I did have to stop and stretch/ catch my breath halfway. My knee has been feeling a bit wobbly lately so to avoid an injury I will be taking an unscheduled rest day tomorrow and will try to incorporate some yoga/ ab work in, but making sure to stay off my legs.

I finished my run with a tall protein shake and now I am going to get ready and head out with my friends for a little bit.
