Gingerbread house making with family // traditions- blogmas day 11
On the 11th day of blogmas DIY Lifestyle gave to me, gingerbread house making with the family.
Making a gingerbread house is a tradition in my family and in most families worldwide. As I said in yesterday’s post, every year I love making my own from scratch because if you know me then you know I love competition. I love beating myself every year to try and make my design better than the last.
So, this year instead of making just one I made two! One from scratch and a second from the store! Although store-bought ones aren’t my favorite there is one shop that’s the exception, Trader Joes. They are one of my favorite places to shop because the customers are so friendly and they offer such unique food items. From everything but the bagel seasoning to Columbian coffee, you are sure to find a unique food in every section, and their gingerbread houses can attest to this. They sell the most adorable German-inspired gingerbread houses in a do it yourself assembling kit. So, I took a trip to my local Trader Joes and picked up two boxes to decorate today with the family.
Here were the results:
What the kit looks like- (Ignore all the extra candy in the background)

Here is everything that is included in the kit. Not the knife!
Icing you make yourself, Hansel & Gretel + the witch and cat, gingerbread pieces, gummy candy, hard candy, sprinkles, and a stand ( can make the box into a stand)

This was such a fun way to end the weekend, prepare for Christmas eve on Tuesday and to just have some good Holiday fun!
Thank you so much for reading today’s post. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and last weekend before Christmas!
Happy Holidays everyone! 🙂
