10 must-haves for Paleo Families
Since becoming Paleo a year ago I’ve learned along the way that having a pantry stocked with paleo ingredients and knowing your way around certain situations is crucial. It will be difficult once you start a new lifestyle. There will be many unknowns which at times will make you want to revert back to your old eating habits, but that is no time to give up. Learning and gaining information on the topic will only help further your success.
The tips I am sharing today will hopefully help you transition/ help you grow with your new lifestyle. They will give you information so when a problem arises you know exactly how to tackle it.
ENJOY 🙂
1. Stock up on paleo desserts
One of the biggest changes for me when I became paleo was giving up processed sugars. I was constantly craving a Hershey’s chocolate bar or some M&M’s. I would make it 2-3 weeks of no sugar then I couldn’t take it and would indulge. This is when I decided enough was enough, I had to figure out a way to enjoy desserts the paleo way. My biggest tip: stock your pantry with easy to make paleo desserts and snacks so that when the cravings hit, you are prepared. Here is my favorite brand to shop- Simple Mills
2. Stock up on snacks
This goes in direct correlation with stocking up on desserts. One of the main things I noticed, next to my sugar cravings, was I was hungry. I don’t have a huge appetite but for some reason when I started eating the paleo way I was constantly hungry. So I stopped by Whole Foods and picked up some paleo friendly snacks which little did I know would be the best thing to happen to me. These little boxes of yumminess are soooo delicious to just snack on or create a lovely appetizer with. My favorite brand- Simple Mills
3. Party substitutions
If you know you have to attend an event then bring along some paleo food. Whether it’s an outdoor picnic or a simple celebration, make a few paleo dishes so you won’t need to worry about what you can and cannot eat. You will be able to just enjoy the event.
4. Don’t sweat over eating out
Attending an event where you are eating out at a restaurant? Don’t sweat it because these tips will help you. Check out Eating out on the gluten-free & paleo diet- my favorite tips so you can enjoy your meal for need to know info.
5. Greek dressing with Avocado Oil
Putting olive oil on your salad is a thing of the past, instead try out this delicious greek dressing that will take your salads to a whole new level. Click here to shop it.
6. Try ordering your groceries online
Something which I have been seeing a lot of lately is people having their groceries delivered straight to their door. What a neat idea! So, I did some research and found this great online store called Thrive Market where you can easily shop your groceries by what your diet is. It’s super easy to find paleo, gluten-free and other products. The second best part, with one click they are being sent straight to your door. No need to rummage through the store isles anymore!
7. Paleo cookbooks
One of my main tips for anyone switching diets is to find magazines or cookbooks which lay out simple recipes to try out. When you start your new diet your mind is buzzing with different recipes to make for dinner/ the struggles of coming up with dishes. So, I suggest shopping paleo cook books and start by making some of the recipes from it. You won’t realize how quickly you will learn everything surrounding the paleo diet.
My absolute favorite cook book- The Ultimate Paleo Cookbook
8. Meal prep
After a long days work one of the last things you want to do is cook. That’s why meal prepping paleo friendly dishes is the way to go. This way all you have to do is warm it up and you’re good to go 🙂
9. Positive attitude
Don’t start your new lifestyle with stress. Stop stressing over whether you can eat this or that and instead take a deep breath and focus. It will take time for you to become accustomed to the changes. It will take time for you to know off the top of your head if these foods are okay to buy or not. Do your research but most importantly keep a positive outlook and don’t let the stress overwhelm you.
10. Enjoy life
Sometimes you will eat sugar or gluten, and that’s okay. Don’t freak out, enjoy life and enjoy food because it’s too delicious to stress over.

These are great tips! We try to eat completely non-gmo and organic foods. So we’ve definitely seen the benefit of having healthy alternatives available. We try to keep a well stocked pantry so we’re able to make anything we’re craving.
