DIY Halloween Decor

October 8, 2018

It’s officially Halloween on DIY Lifestyle! So, without further ado, welcome to my first Halloween post of this year!

I hope everyone or most are enjoying their day off today, I know I am. It is such a relief and wake up at 8 a.m instead of 5 a.m. The sun is actually up and it is light outside! 🙂 Today is going to be a very packed full of fun day! I am applying to some of my colleges this morning, I am going to my friend’s house and I am going to prepare my blog posts for this week!

I want to thank all of my readers for the amazing stats on my last few posts. The numbers just keep going up and up and it makes me smile. Starting a blog was such a great idea to do. It allows me to share my love of creating things and writing with the world! No JOKE! I have people from India, China, Japan, Bahamas, Switzerland and so many more places viewing my blog! It is insanely awesome 🙂

I have been talking about starting my Halloween posts for a few weeks now and I can’t wait for y’all to read todays. Today I am going to be posting DIY Halloween Decor. I will blog about Fall on Wednesday and Halloween on Friday. But then the following weeks my blog will be jumping full into the spooky season and blogging about Halloween 3 times a week! Yes you heard that right 🙂 It’s going to get spooky! But don’t fret, because those who have a week stomach and cannot handle all the spookiness my blog is offering, I will be throwing in a Fall post here and there for you guys (just joking around).

ENJOY todays post! And have a great Monday!

I found these DIY decor ideas on country living.

I changed the descriptions to my own.

Mascot

DIY Network has instructions on how to make one-of-kind, DIY Halloween decorations for your front yard.

Greet trick-or-treaters with a DIY scarecrow mascot rather than buying one. Give it a personality to match your style: scary or friendly, male or female, casual or formal. Use lumber to create the body: a 2×4 for the main post, a 1×4 for the shoulders and four more 1x4s for the arms. Use wood glue and fasteners to secure the elbow joints. A dried or plastic gourd will last longer than a fresh one and a scarf is the perfect accessory to cover up any unsightly handiwork.

Eyeball Wreath

Add a little Cruella Deville style to your front door by wrapping a black feather boa around a wreath form then adorning it with some bloodshot eyeballs. Get the step-by-step instructions

Haunted Hotel Sign

Create this unique and funny sign that will help keep away unexpected quests (Just kidding), making your home look like a haunted bed and breakfast. Go to a salvage yard to get an old post and corbel — they’ll already be aged and weathered. Then add your personal welcome sign. Get the step-by-step instructions

Picture-Frame Lanterns

DIY Halloween Decorations | DIY

Guide your guests to the front door with these spooky lanterns. But don’t forget to save the directions because I guarantee they will want to make their own! To make these, four inexpensive picture frames are nailed together to make a square. Halloween drawings are printed on vellum paper then inserted into the frames, then a candle is set inside the frames.

Thank you so much for reading today’s post! Hope you enjoyed my first Halloween post of the season.

Have a great day everyone and see ya Wednesday!
How ya feeling today?!

I especially love the candy corn garland and the picture frame lanterns, what a clever idea!!

I like your new pumpkin 🎃 background, it’s nice and festive.
