One of my favorite moments as of recently is my retreat weekend spent in Omega for Holistic Healing with my Dad. Here is their website. I had the pleasure of meeting three well-known Cigong Masters, Robert Peng, Ken Cohen, and Michael Gleb.
I spent 3 days working on Qigong which is a practice of movements meant to energize the life force of our body and spirit. Qigong practice involves moving mediation of slow-flowing, deep-breathing movements to bring about a calm meditative state of mind to focus on creating energy in our body to heal our mind and physical self.
I originally signed up for the class to accompany my Dad, but after the first session, I became drawn into the calm, meditative feeling falling over my body. After the first night, I noticed the quality of my sleep improved and my mental focus, and overall light energy in my body increase.
By day 3 I had learned three new Qigong movements to incorporate into my life and learned a newfound sense of love for the world, my body, and my own healing powers.
Omega Institute for Holistic Healing is located in Rhinebeck, NY, and offers countless classes tapping into all areas of Holistic Healing, Mediative Practices, and Creative Expression.
Also, a BIG perk of signing up is the FOOD! When you sign up for classes you also receive a meal card to eat EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING from their cafeteria that caters to GLUTEN-FREE, VEGAN, PLANT-BASED eaters! As you can imagine, as someone who deals with food allergies, I was in HEAVEN HERE!
I didn’t take any photos from my time here because I made a vow to detox from my phone for the 3 days we spent practicing. But, trust me when I say, it’s 100% worth it to make the trek and spend a few days tucked away into Rhinebeck’s Omega Institute.
