Think back on your most memorable road trip.
I have never been on a road trip but I have driven for several hours to reach a vacation spot.
One memory I have is the drive to Vermont to go skiing. Packing the car with our skis and luggage. Driving up the Taconic, stopping along the way to see the look-outs, eating at the Blue Ben (out go-to diner when driving to Vermont). Driving through the small towns, stopping at the gift shops, taking pictures. Then, arriving at our hotel, seeing the ski mountain, eating dinner, relaxing. Such a beautiful way to spend the next few days.
Another memory which comes to mind is our drive to Block Island. Waking up at 3 am to be on the road. Packing the car, stopping at Starbucks early in the morning. Listening to music as we drive to the ferry. Arriving at the ferry and smelling the salty fishy air (such a distinct smell), seeing our boat and the cars lined up getting ready to board. It’s such a wonderful way to start our beach vacation and the smells and sights are so clear in my mind.
Going on a road trip is definitely on my bucket list! I’ve always wanted to drive to Maine, or out west to Yellowstone.
