14 Beauty hacks every girl needs to know to combat hot humid weather » Theresa Healey
July is here and with July comes hot weather. Where I live a majority of July is taken up by hot, humid, sticky, rainy 90 degree weather. This past week has been brutal with temperatures so humid that some days I need to change my shirt twice a day. Not comfortable. Since for most people summer only lasts 2 months, who wants to spend that time indoors with the AC! You want to be outside enjoying the green scenery, playing with friends and doing other wonderful things in nature. Since I too understand the struggles of a hot day ruining your makeup, cute outfit, styled hair, or mood. I figured it would be a good time to stop complaining and do something about it. So I sat down at my computer, started typing and came up with these awesome hacks that will have you feeling and looking your best even on humid miserable days. Thin out your foundation No one wants to wear a thick layer of foundation on a hot sunny day especially since it will interfere with your tanning. Instead create your own tinted moisturizer by adding a few drops of your foundation into your favorite sunscreen. This way you will still be able to cover up your skin slightly, protect from sun damage, and allow just enough sun to fall upon your skin giving it a nice glow. Always carry deodorant Nothing is worse than arriving at a party and realizing you smell. It’s almost impossible to wash it away because you’re limited on resources. To avoid this unwanted stress keep a travel size deodorant in your purse at all times so when you need a little swipe you have it with you. Avoid black clothing This may seem like such a ‘duhhh of course’ rule but still many people continue to not follow it. The worst color to wear during the summer is black. If you’ve worn it then you know exactly what I am talking about. It absorbs all the heat and will guaranteed to have you sweating in no time. Instead wear bright colors which will help in not absorbing all the heat. Stay away from the grey Wearing grey in the summer is almost just as bad as wearing black. Once you sweat, and chances are you probably will, the stains will be extremely noticeable and embarrassing. Wear your hair up If you have long hair or hair that covers the back of your neck then in the heat your hair will be sticky and sweaty therefore making your neck hot which then makes you hot. You don’t want to be any more hot than you already are so wear your hair up to avoid this. Shop my favorite no crease hair ties here. Carry around this small phone fan Most places have AC but if for some reason they don’t then think about investing in this perfect phone fan so you will have AC no matter where you venture. Dresses really are a wonder If the heat is unbearable but you have an event to attend, opt for wearing a flowy dress so the wind can cool you down and you won’t be sitting in a pair of hot pants. Ice pack on the neck One of my favorite tips for people who suffer from hot weather induced nausea/ heat stroke, is to apply an ice pack to the back of their neck which helps in cooling down the body and will also aid in relaxation. Aloe for your burns My absolute favorite brand ↑↑↑↑↑↑ Burnt skin is both unpleasing and uncomfortable. But if you do wind up burnt a nice coat of aloe vera over your burns, face and body, will do the trick. The perfect bronzed tan Something all women want to achieve is the perfect bronzed tan, but for some it’s hard to. So instead of risking getting brunt use this tanning oil which will help you achieve the perfect glow. Makeup and water Whenever I am going to the beach or going to the pool I always leave the makeup off, but some people don’t want to. So instead of avoiding the water because you’re scared your mascara will run, buy waterproof mascara, waterproof eyebrow filler (i’ve tried this and it really works), and other waterproof makeup products. Avoid chaffing Chaffing is uncomfortable….. and…… uncomfortable. It can ruin your outfit and day. To avoid chaffing during the hot weather click here and learn how to avoid the chub rub. Stick your moisturizer in the fridge Doing this will help cool down your face at night, relax your body and feels soooooo good. Thanks for reading today’s post and checking out my blog.
